The Agrircola Moth

The Agricola Moth - Agarista agricola Donovan [female]. Family Agaristidae. This beautiful vine moth with its black wings coated in orange, blue and red markings, is found from eastern Queensland to New South Wales. Its larval foodplant is Cissus [native vines]. Its wingspan is 8.2cm [female]. It is no longer common due to agricultural spraying and the depredations of collectors.
